workshops

the art of circlesinging, with David worm
monthly on second wednesdays

Eager to step into the center and lead a circle?

For singers who want to peek under the hood, and learn some of the skills and tools for creating your own circles, this workshop’s for you!

Everyone has songs – we hear music every day, and it’s in our bones. Knowing some basic tools and being reminded of what you already know, you’ll be supported in the group and guided by David to bring your compositions to life. Deep listening, rhythm, tonality, style, song form, vocal percussion, harmony – these are all learnable, and this is a great place to practice!

What’s more, you’ll learn how to communicate your inspiration to other group members, so they can make your compositions come to life, right on the spot.

These two hour gatherings will help you to step into the center with confidence, and tune in to what other leaders have to offer.

New to Circlesinging?

This is a great way to try it out, in a supportive crowd that will make you sound great! No experience or prior musical background needed – you are enough!
We sing the improvised parts created in the moment by our talented and internationally acclaimed CircleSinging master, David Worm, and by other beloved local and visiting leaders who make stuff up in the Bobby McFerrin tradition.
These one-and-a-half hour sings have been happening monthly for more than 20 years, and have grown into an awesome community of kindred spirits sharing the magic of sound. You can learn more about the way we keep the tradition of CircleSinging here.
